Dear Spirit AFA-CWA Union Brothers and Sisters,
We are pleased to bring you a report full of action and growth by your Spirit AFA Team! This has certainly been a busy week for us, from internal focus to connecting with Spirit management, we have lots to share! Check out the pictures of our busy week below!
Various members of Union Leaders started arriving in FLL at the beginning of the week to attend our Spirit AFA Communications Workshop on 1/18/16. Our MEC Communications Chairperson Stacy Werse prepared the Seminar/Workshop and led the group in many team-building and skill-building exercises, in addition to a powerpoint presentation with group discussions. The Workshop lasted approximately 7 hours, from 1000-1800 with an hour break for lunch. We addressed many basic interpersonal communication skills that can help improve overall satisfaction, increase efficiency and minimize the amount of mistakes that could result from misunderstandings or gaps in communication. Lastly, we discussed common goals for our organization and the expectations we hold one another accountable to in our respective positions as leaders among the Union Team. Being a Union Leader means more to us than simply fulfilling specific tasks. We strive to be good leaders and represent our membership with honesty and integrity. Ultimately, the purpose of this workshop was to strengthen our Union by building trust, respect and confidence in one another, opening the channels of information-sharing so we can focus our efforts more effectively, and collaborate with one another to find creative solutions and improvements to our current operations. We are proud to say with confidence that the effects of this workshop were immediately visible and have made a resonating impact on each of us.
