MARCH 22nd, 2016

Dear Spirit AFA Brothers and Sisters,

We have heard from many of you about the tentative agreement.  We feel your excitement.  We know you are eager for details.  We know it has been nine long years and we believe that we are finally at the end of the road.

With regard to next steps, AFA Constitution and Bylaws require that the tentative agreement which was negotiated by the Committee must now be presented to the five (5) Local Presidents for review and approval.  Your elected leaders will decide whether or not this tentative agreement will be sent out to the membership for a ratification vote.

We are pleased to report that all five (5) Presidents have assembled in Las Vegas.  Our AFA Senior Staff Negotiator Paula Mastrangelo, along with your two (2) negotiations committee members have worked diligently to prepare a complete document that reflect the changes to our current collective bargaining agreement.  This document will be presented to your elected leadership.  In turn, they will spend the next two days reviewing the whole document.  At the end of the two days, we anticipate that the elected leadership will take a decision.  At this time, we anticipate that the Spirit Airlines AFA elected leadership will finish their deliberations by Thursday and an announcement will be forthcoming shortly thereafter.

We thank you for your continued patience and for your unwavering support.

In Solidarity,

Jorge Buchelli, Negotiations Committee Chair

MEC President

Kathryn Ayala, Negotiations Committee Member
