Negotiations: Mini-Update

Fellow Spirit Flight Attendants,

Our green ribbon/bag tag campaign is producing results!  Thank you to all of you who are participating.  Showing that we are all together and committed to see this through to the end has the company taking notice.  They see that we are serious, and our recent time spent at the bargaining table has been much more productive.

We met with the company on October 14th to exchange more proposals.  We have still not returned to the subject of compensation, but we did have more discussions with the company on the scheduling and reserve sections.  The discussions were very productive, and we believe we are continuing to come closer on an agreement.  We are scheduled to meet again on November 3rd and November 7th and 8th.  If we can get many of our issues with Scheduling and Reserve resolved, we feel confident that we can have more productive conversations regarding compensation.

We have continued working on a response to the company’s last pay rate proposal and we will hopefully be able to present them with our counter proposal in one of the November sessions.  Please continue to be patient.  Although it seems at times that negotiations are never-ending, understand that nothing about our collective bargaining is being done haphazardly, and we continue to move forward.

Thank you all again for your continued support!
