Negotiations: Tentative Agreement Reached!

Dear Spirit Flight Attendants,

We have exciting news! We have reached a tentative agreement with management on a new contract!

  1. ) MEC Approves Tentative Agreement: Details of the tentative agreement (TA) were presented to the AFA Spirit Master Executive Council (MEC), and the MEC has unanimously approved the TA to be put out for membership ratification (voting). The MEC also voted unanimously to recommend that flight attendants vote FOR the TA.

  2. Roadshows – In-Person and Remote: We are not releasing full details now; however, we are publishing below the TA pay rates. Your Negotiating Committee will conduct in-person roadshows in each Flight Attendant base March 6-17th and will also hold remote (via Zoom) meetings and post detailed information and specific topic videos on the AFA Spirit website.

Preparing for the roadshows and creating content for the website will take a tremendous amount of time and effort. We ask for your patience as we prepare for the roadshows.

  3. Full Details Released at Roadshows - In the Meantime: We understand that all Flight Attendants want to understand what’s in the deal NOW. Please know the TA is very positive for our Flight Attendant group, and we look forward to sharing the full details. Your MEC agrees with this assessment. In the meantime, please know that we achieved the following:

    • JetBlue+ Pay

    • Significant Scheduling and Reserve Improvements

    • No changes to our medical coverage

    • Maintained our current line bidding system (No PBS)

    • Hybrid DOT system (both seniority-based and first-come, first-served)

  4.  We are publishing the TA Pay Rates below because we know that is uppermost in everyone’s minds. The rates represent the JetBlue “Straight Scale” rates (so NO premium over 70 hrs), but we maintained Spirit’s 150% over 85 hours, AND we shortened the pay scale to 13 years.

    • Important: The first 2% increase to the scale happens after eight months, not 12 months. The second 3% pay increase happens 12 months after that. That means you will receive significant pay increases in 1 year and eight months! Most Flight Attendants will see a 40+ % increase within one year and eight months!

  • When looking at the pay rates, it is essential to “walk yourself through the pay steps.” Don’t just “go across” the scale – you have to factor in (“down the scale”) your anniversary pay steps.

Immediate Pay Raise Increases upon Date of Membership Ratification Below:

We want to ensure every Spirit Flight Attendants’ voice is heard, and YOU can only do that if you are current and “in good standing” with your membership dues.
