Tentative Agreement is Ratified!

Dear Spirit Flight Attendants,

The final vote for the Tentative Agreement is in! We are proud to announce that the final vote was YES!

75% voted “YES.”

25% voted “NO.”

 

What are the next steps?

Your AFA negotiations committee and MEC have been working with the company on the implementation timeline of all the new TA provisions. A clean version of the New Contract will be posted.

Implementation so far:

  • The pay raise is retroactive to April 1st, and the retro amount will be paid on the April 28th paycheck.

  • Lead Pay increase will be retroactive to April 1st and will be on your May 15th paycheck.

  • Uniform order free shipping effective immediately.

  • Sick leave cap increased to 500 hrs., effective immediately.

  • Block hours in 2023 count for additional $150 uniform credit paid in Jan 2024.

  • Block and credit caps for SAP and DOT will be removed for the May bid month.

  • New minimum rest rules in Section 7.

  • The 600 hours for company-paid medical insurance will begin calculating on September 1st, 2023, for your benefits in 2025.  No Change: Your 2024 benefits calculation (still 432) will end on September 30th, 2023. Remember: September 2023 will count TWICE (for 2024 benefits and 2025 benefits)

 

Effective May 1st:

  • All Reserve Section provisions (seniority-based assignment/, call-me-first’, picking up on a moveable day following GDO, additional reserve shifts, etc.) 

  • Most Scheduling/Hours of Service Sections provisions (Max 15 hrs. on duty actual, DOR restoration rules, reroute-reschedule distinction, and 150% premium on increased credit worked, new rules for calculating reserve grid, pairing construction processes and regulations, etc.)

  • Leaves of Absence: minimum 12-month service to qualify for maternity leave

  • Notice of Investigation (NOI) meeting pay, notification, and protective provisions (max 90-day look-back, new timelines)

  • Commuter Policy provisions: increase in the number of commuter failures, notifying CS after 1st failed flight, recovery provisions, etc.

 

The new bidding timeline, Seniority-based Open time (SOT), and first come, first served open time (FCFS OT) will begin in May for the JUNE bid month. We will have more information soon.
